On-page SEO is the practice of optimising individual web pages in order to rank higher and earn more relevant traffic in search engines. On-page refers to both the content and HTML source code of a page that can be optimised, as opposed to off-page SEO which refers to links and other external signals.
Unlike off page optimisation, on-page optimisation is completely under your control and is up to you to manage and improve and to constantly manage and improve.
So where to start….
Plagerism is a no-no, search engines like new interesting content and they are smart, they know if you’ve cut and paste and if you do too much then it starts to work against you. Make sure that you have good internal linking to other relevant pages on your website and it doesn’t hurt to reference other quality external websites (but maybe use a nofollow). Once you have the content that make sure it is HTML aware by suing the correct header tags in the correct sequence and any images have appropriate Alt tags and that keyword selection is careful chosen to fit with your content and your business needs.
